Sometimes you just have one of those days, one of those mornings where everyone screams and fights and yells and is annoyed (and annoying :p), even mommy and daddy. Let’s be honest, that happens to the best of us. Right?
So you’re having one of those mornings, and you don’t want to let the kids know you’re super annoyed (though they are not crazy, so they probably know anyway) and you try to make it a fun day for them. You take them to the supermarket, decide then and there you’re going to have a picnic, buy bread on sale, find roasted bell pepper spread half off (money is just not a thing we have in abundance) and luckily you packed juice so you don’t have to spend more money. You bribe the kids with the promise of the picnic at the playground so they will get in their car seats (is that a struggle for everybody??), stop at Tim Hortons for a coffee to feel like you have a treat too, pull over at the playground and set out the ‘picnic’. Which basically just means dipping the bread in the spread ’cause you don’t have a knife while sitting on a bench, while the boys run around with their bread in their hands and pink spread all over their faces. The sun is shining, you feel yourself calming down, you are watching your silly monkeys when one of them stops, turns around to look at you and says: “I am super happy, mommy!”
